This 4-day face to face course brings together the major qualification and essential skill requirements for Medical Officers, Registered and Enrolled Nurses, RANs, Registered Paramedics, Advanced Medics seeking to work, or upskill in either the Rural and Remote Clinic / Hospital / MPS setting, or the Resources Sector (including Marine and Offshore).

Our course is aimed at both beginning, and more advanced Medical, Nursing, Medic or Paramedic practitioners.

Note – This 4-day course does not include Paediatric Advanced Life Support or Maternity / Neonatal Emergencies

Barry McCarthy RN RP

Managing Director

Barry, Registered Nurse / Registered Paramedic, the Director of Bledisloe Medical, is our Emergency & Critical Care specialist. He brings over 30 years of skills and knowledge from his background in state-based ED, retrieval, and nursing education and leadership roles in both Qld and New Zealand.

Now with his own education and training business, Barry brings all his skills, qualifications, and experience to our expanding range of courses both locally to the Sunshine Coast and throughout Australia and the South Pacific

Libby Bowell OAM RN

Instructor

Libby Bowell OAM is a nurse of rare calibre. With 40+ years of nursing, she is a current NT RAN, ED Nurse, and has been a ED NUM and Director of Education for CRANA.

Additionally, she has worked and led over 30 international humanitarian missions with the Red Cross and is a recipient of the Florence Nightingale Medal for her work in North Africa with Ebola. She has also been awarded an Order of Australia for her services to Nursing in Australia.

Libby joins us to pass on her tremendous depth of remote area nursing experience, knowledge, and insights, to nurses looking to work in rural and remote healthcare in our upcoming FIFO Medical Essential courses.

Paul Chant RN

Advanced Medic & Instructor

Paul is our Resources Sector specialist and Director of Training. He brings his experience in 34 years of ED nursing and resources sectors, working and managing health clinics for companies including Oilsearch (PNG), Woodside, Rio Tinto and DOF Subsea.

In between our FIFO Medical Essentials courses Paul works with Aspen Medical and Corporate Protect Australia to provide contract nursing services to Santos, Shell and other resource companies.

We appreciate your interest in our services at Bledisloe Medical Pty Ltd. To ensure transparency and compliance with Australian Consumer Laws, we have established the following cancellation and refund policy:

Cancellation Policy:

  • Clients are entitled to cancel any scheduled services associated with their relevant Services Agreement at any time.
  • To cancel any scheduled services without incurring any penalties, clients must provide a minimum of two weeks’ written notice prior to the date of any scheduled services.

Refund Eligibility:

  • Clients may be eligible for a refund if they cancel their service booking in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.
  • Failure to provide the required two weeks’ written notice may result in the forfeiture of any refund entitlement.

Rescheduling Policy:

  • Clients who wish to reschedule their service booking may do so by providing a minimum of two weeks’ written notice prior to the scheduled service date.
  • Rescheduling requests made with the required notice will be accommodated without any penalties.
  • If a client reschedules their service booking, they will have the option to apply any payments made towards the rescheduled service or receive a full refund associated with the scheduled services, less any applicable surcharges.

Refund Process:

  • If a cancellation or rescheduling request is received with at least two weeks’ written notice, clients may be entitled to a full refund (less any surcharges) of any payments made for the scheduled services.
  • Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment used for the original purchase.
  • Refunds will be processed promptly, but please allow up to 7-10 business days for the refund to reflect in your account.

Non-Refundable Services:

  • Certain services may be deemed non-refundable, regardless of the cancellation or rescheduling notice period. These include services that have already been performed or services for which expenses have already been incurred on behalf of the client.
