This is a 2-day face to face course that brings together the major qualification and essential skill requirements.

Specifically for:

Medical Officers, Registered Nurses, Registered Paramedics, Advanced Medics seeking to work, or upskill in either the Resources Sector or the Rural and Remote setting (including Marine)

Topics covered.

  1. Packaging for Transfer / Retrieval
  2. Rural and Remote Sector overview (including International)
  3. Resources Sector overview
  4. The Primary Survey
  5. The Sick Child
  6. Stop-Bleed, Splinting and Immobilisation
  7. Critical ECG and Rhythm Interpretation
  8. Basic wound closure (Suturing, Stapling, Gluing)
  9. Basic plaster casting
  10. Advanced Airway, including RSI Processes and NIV
  11. Intravenous cannulation, Intraosseous insertion
  12. Medical Emergencies (Sepsis and Respiratory)
